Avocado oil has numerous benefits for your skin and it could be your solution to obtaining soft skin. Once you have decided to incorporate avocado into your skincare routine, you need to decide which brand you want to use.
The main things to look for when purchasing avocado oil are:
- It is unrefined.
- Unrefined means that they used little or no heat to extract the oil (cold-pressed/ expeller pressed).
- They do not deodorize or scent it.
- Make sure that it is pure avocado oil.
- Read the ingredients carefully to make sure that it is 100% pure avocado oil. You don’t want any cheaper or bad quality oils mixed in.
- Preferably Non-GMO and Organic.

My Preferred Brands
This was the very first brand of avocado oil that I tried and used for the first one and a half years. I liked it since it wasn’t too demanding of my wallet, and it still worked for my skin. However, I feel like their quality declined because it started to smell weird and no longer had the same effect on my face. It still worked fine on the rest of my body though.
Since “Now” avocado oil is a bit expensive to use as a body oil, I decided to try Tantillo avocado oil which caught my eye at Albertson’s. They do sell it on Amazon if you can’t find it at Albertson’s or don’t have one near you. You can always pick another brand of avocado oil at your local grocery market store though. Just make sure that it says 100% avocado oil, and it is better if it is Non-GMO and/or organic (as stated earlier). The great thing about buying oils from the grocery store is that those oils are meant for eating, so it should be safe to apply on your skin. On the other hand, you can’t buy any random oil from the market and expect it to work for your face. Many vegetable oils will clog your pores.
I am missing this one in the picture because I filled up the “Now” bottle with it and threw the glass away -_-;
This post talks more about which oils would suit your skin.
I have used this brand for the past 3 months and it is my favorite one. Sadly, it is also the most expensive brand. I prefer Sky Organics because it comes with a pump so you can easily dispense the amount of avocado oil that you need and nothing goes to waste.
Because it is a bit pricey, I only use this for my face and I use Tantillo avocado oil for the rest of my body. But if you compare this to the other chemical-filled moisturizers on the market, it is budget friendly.
How To Apply
I use avocado oil at night after I shower and cleanse my face with my yogurt cleanser.
Avocado oil is rich in fatty acids and vitamins A, E, and D. These help to protect your skin from damage and provides it with nutrients to produce collagen.
